Using Cloud Storage – Nowadays, cloud technology is being loved a lot, one of which is for storing various kinds of files such as photos, videos, documents, and also various other things. Cloud can be said as a substitute for conventional storage which often has an unpleasant experience, and of course, is more secure and cloud-secure.
Why is it safer? What are the advantages of using cloud storage?

Definition of Data Storage Media
The definition of data storage media is the media used to record and store large-scale data from computer systems. Examples include optical discs and magnetic tape.
Storage management data storage media provides centralized control of backups, a database containing details of all backup sessions, media management facilities, and a built-in, rule-based tape rotation system. Server-based and workstation-based components are used with data storage media for storage management.
Various Data Storage Media
Data storage can be divided into two, as mentioned above, namely magnetic storage and optical storage. These two storages have differences which for their own use depends on how you need the media to be stored.
First, data storage media, such as magnetic tape, consist of a layer of magnetic oxide on a thin plastic strip commonly used for backup and archiving.
Floppy disk or floppy disk is one of the ancient magnetic storage media. It is a type of disk storage consisting of a thin, flexible disk of magnetic storage media in a plastic or nearly square case covered with a cloth that removes dust particles from the rotating disk.
Next is the hard disk which is a magnetic storage medium for computers. A hard disk is a flat circular disk made of aluminum or glass and coated with a magnetic material. Hard disks for personal computers can store terabytes (trillions of bytes) of information.
An even simpler version, is a flash. This is a storage medium that plugs into a USB port on your computer. USB drives or flash drives are commonly used for storage, data backup, and transferring files between devices.
A memory card or memory card is an electronic data storage device used to store digital information, usually using flash memory. It is commonly used in digital portable electronic devices.
Still related to floppy disks or floppy disks, the Zip drive is a removable floppy disk storage system introduced by Iomega in late 1994.
An optical disk is a type of data storage medium made of polycarbonate, which allows data to be read by a laser beam that shines on the polycarbonate hitting the data layer. Storage on digital optical media has the advantage of large capacity. Optical media is used to store sound, images, and digital data.
A CD (Compact disc) is a printed plastic disc containing digital data which is scanned by a laser beam for reproduction of recorded sound and other information.
A CD-ROM is a pre-pressed optical compact disc that contains data. The computer can read—but cannot write or erase—CD-ROMs, a type of read-only memory.
WORM tape media is formatted to provide each block on the WORM cartridge with write-once, read-many protection. Additionally, the memory cartridge (CM) has a WORM indicator byte in the cartridge type field. Both of these conditions must be true for the drive to work with the WORM cartridge.
CD-RW (Compact Disc-Rewritable), can be written, read, erased, and rewritable unlike a CD-ROM.
DVD is a new generation of optics. disk storage technology. DVDs are basically bigger, faster CDs that can hold cinema-like video, audio better than CDs, photos, and computer data.
Cloud Storage (Cloud)
Lastly is cloud storage or cloud. Cloud storage is a service model in which data is transmitted and stored on a remote storage system, where the data is maintained, managed, backed up and made available to users through a network usually called the internet. Users generally pay for their cloud data storage at a monthly rate per consumption.
Cloud storage is based on a virtualized storage infrastructure with accessible interfaces, near-instant elasticity and scalability, multi-tenancy and scalable resources. Cloud-based data is stored in logical pools on various on-premises commodity storage servers or in data centers managed by third-party cloud providers.
Advantages of Using Cloud Storage Over Conventional Storage
Choosing to store various kinds of your data using the cloud is the right choice. Instead of using conventional storage which is quite outdated and is starting to be incompatible for today’s daily activities.
Backup Data Without Worrying About Lost Files Forever
Cloud backup, also known as online backup or remote backup, is a strategy for sending physical or virtual copies of files or databases to an offsite secondary location for preservation in the event of an equipment failure or disaster.
So, for example, you still have data on your hard disk and you have backed up all that data in the cloud, if one day your hard disk is damaged, you will not be overwhelmed by the data being lost, because you have backed it up in the cloud.
Update and Sync Your Data Remotely
This is one of the advantages of the cloud. Cloud file sync is an application that keeps files in different locations up-to-date via the cloud. For cloud file synchronization, the user sets up a cloud-based folder, where the desired files are copied. This folder makes files accessible via a web interface for multiple users, on whatever device they are using and at the same time.
Remote Work Made Easy
Cloud technology is a very good idea for remote work done as a team. Cloud technologies are all focused on the idea that people can access information on the internet. This helps remote employees because they can share files, collaborate on projects, communicate quickly using chat or video platforms, and access the software programs they need in their own homes.
No Need to Bring a Physical Hard Drive
The advantage of this one is talking about the conciseness of storage using the cloud. This one storage won’t make you worry if you leave important data at home, if you’ve uploaded it in the cloud, you just need to take the data as long as there is an internet connection.
Share Data Easily
Cloud storage is often not only used for yourself, but also for other people who need it. You can use it to share files easily without any hassle. Share files back and forth with your friends and colleagues, or make them available to the entire Internet.
