F5 F5
F5 F5 Network Firewall provides policy-based access control to and from address and port pairs, inside and outside your network. Using a combination of contexts, network firewalls can implement rules in a number of different ways, including: at the global level, at the route domain, at the per-virtual server level, for a standalone IP address, or for port management. Firewall rules are incorporated into firewall policies, which can contain multiple contexts and address pairs, and can be applied directly to any context except port management. The rules for port management context are defined inline, and do not require a separate policy. Automatically, Network Firewall is configured in ADC mode, the default configuration that allows, where all traffic is allowed through the firewall, and whatever traffic you want to block must be explicitly specified.
The system is configured in this mode by default so that all traffic on your system continues to pass after you provide Advanced Firewall Manager ™. You must create appropriate firewall rules to allow the necessary traffic to pass before you switch Advanced Firewall Manager to Firewall mode. In Firewall mode, the default reject configuration is, all traffic is blocked through the firewall, and whatever traffic you want to allow through the firewall must be explicitly specified.

About firewall mode
F5 F5 Network Firewall provides policy-based access control to and from address and port pairs, inside and outside your network. By default, the network firewall is configured in ADC mode. This means the default configuration is permitted, where all traffic is allowed to the virtual server and standalone IP address on the system, and whatever traffic you want to block must be explicitly specified. This only applies to virtual servers and standalone IP levels on the system.
