What is Access Point?
Access Point is a network device that contains a transceiver and antenna for transmitting and receiving signals to and from remote clients. With access points (AP) wireless clients can quickly and easily connect to wired LAN networks wirelessly. One Access Point product that is currently widely used is UniFI AP.
Or So that we are easier to understand then you could say a device used to connect devices in a network, to and from a Wireless network.
Access Point Function?
Functioning as a regulator of data traffic, thus allowing many Clients to connect to each other through the network (Network).
Or if you want to be more clearly specified the access point’s functions are as follows:
1. Set the AP to function as a DHCP server
2. Try the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) features
3. Set access based on the MAC address of the access device
4. As a Hub / Switch that acts to connect local networks with wireless networks
UniFi AP?
Ubiquiti Unifi works at a frequency of 802.11b / g / n 2.4Ghz. There are 2bh internal MIMO antennas. TX Power reaches 100mW. Adapters and POEs are included. The shape is minimalist and comes with a mount-bracket for diplafon installation.
