The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller provides ease in management of switching all AP data.
With industry-leading local forwarding technology, the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller eliminates traditional Wireless Controller traffic constraints. Local forwarding technology enables flexible deployment of data forwarding in AP. This means that the AP can determine whether to forward all data through the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller according to the Service Set ID (SSID) or VLAN of the user, or to send data directly to a wired network for data communication. Local forwarding technology enables large-scale, late-time, and real-time transmission of data over a cable network. With a high 802.11ac throughput, this greatly reduces traffic pressure on the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller. It is also better to complete the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller to accommodate network services with heavy traffic requests such as high definition Video on Demand (VoD) and Voice over Wireless LAN (VoWLAN) in the future.
Intelligent RF Management
The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller allows the AP to scan RF in the wireless network as needed. The AP can scan for frequency bands and wireless channels to identify AP and malicious networks. The AP will send warning notifications to network administrators for immediate action after being discovered, providing network protection at all times. In addition, the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller can control the real-time RF scanning function of the AP to measure signal intensity and interference. The Wireless Controller software also dynamically adjusts traffic load, power, RF range and channel allocation for maximized signal coverage and capacity.
Seamless Roaming Experience
Advanced grouping technology enables real-time synchronization of online information and roaming records of all users among several RG-WS6108 Wireless Controllers. Simply put, user data and authentication are shared in clusters which allows wireless users to roam freely throughout the network. Thus, users can enjoy unlimited and secure roaming experiences with IP addresses and authentication status remaining unchanged. The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller also achieves fast roaming and voice services with clustering technology.
Abundant QoS Policy
The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller supports a variety of QoS policies. For example, Wireless Controllers can set bandwidth limits to give higher priority to important data transmission applications. Wireless Controllers therefore provide guaranteed bandwidth performance for networks of all sizes.
Wireless IPv6 access
The Wireless Controller RG-WS6108 fully supports all IPv6 features and implements IPv6 forwarding on wireless networks. IPv4 and IPv6 users can automatically connect to the wireless controller series via tunnels, allowing IPv6 applications to be covered by wireless networks.
Flexible and comprehensive security policy
Local Authentication
The Wireless Controller RG-WS6108 has a local user database, which offers smooth integration with the default portal server, for easy local authentication for wireless users via web authentication. RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller enables local authentication based on actual user requests, saving costs by getting rid of devices such as external portals and RADIUS servers. Network infrastructure is also very simplified. The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller fully meets the needs of small and medium networks for secure user access.
User Data Encryption
The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller fully supports advanced encryption technology such as Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP), and Advanced Encryption Standards (AES), ensuring the security of end-to-end data transmission over wireless networks.
Standard Communication Protocol
Encrypted communication between the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller and AP is enabled with international standard Control and Provisioning of Wireless Access Points (CAPWAP). This function ensures total isolation of the cable network and guarantees high security for real-time communication between the Wireless Controller and the AP. CAPWAP also enables the deployment of third-party access points in the future, offering superior scalability, availability, and maximizing user investment at the same time.
Virtual Wireless Package Technology
With virtual AP technology, the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller can partition multiple SSIDs in the network. Network administrators can separately encrypt and isolate subnets or VLANs that have the same SSID. Thus deployment allows authentication modes and encryption mechanisms to be determined for each SSID.

The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller also supports Ruijie RG-SMP (Security Management Platform) to provide insight and control over Ruijie’s network and security devices. RG-SMP offers comprehensive security management in a variety of Ruijie security equipment and allows users to manage office networks of all sizes for various industries, with security compliance requirements in aspects of user identity, host health, and network communication security.
Flexible Authentication Mode
In addition to traditional Web Authentication and 802.1X Authentication, the Ruijie RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller also supports PEAP Authentication, SMS Authentication, and QR Code Authentication.
PEAP authentication allows users to authenticate a password just once. That means users are only asked to enter credentials during their first network visit.
If SMS authentication is adopted, the user enters first with their mobile number and then receives an SMS with the user name and login password for network access.
QR code authentication is another wireless security highlight. After accessing the wireless network, users will get a QR code on their end device and simply ask the authorized staff to scan for network access.
Protection Against ARP Spoofing
Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) detection effectively protects network users from ARP spoofing gateways and host spoofing for secure wireless access. Automatic bonding can be activated in a dynamic and static IP address allocation environment to greatly save labor resources and management costs. The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller can monitor and control the rate of ARP packets sent to prevent the use of dangerous scanning tools, which trigger ARP floods and cause network congestion.
Naughty AP Countermeasures
The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller enables effective AP detection and containment to increase wireless security. Wireless Controller sets the active AP to detect misbehaving, sending probe packets and hearing probe responses from valid APs. Network administrators can therefore easily choose a bad AP from the authorities to ensure wireless network security.
DHCP Security
With a reconnaissance Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller allows DHCP response messages only from trusted ports. Wireless controllers can thus prevent the spread of unauthorized DHCP servers to disrupt the allocation and management of IP addresses and affect the normal operation of the network. With the DHCP monitoring function, the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller can effectively prevent ARP host spoofing and spoofing source IP addresses in a dynamic IP allocation environment by dynamically monitoring ARP and checking source IP addresses.
