Ruijie RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller designed to support the next generation of high speed wireless networks. The Ruijie RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller can be used in a Layer 2 or Layer 3 network to communicate with an access point (AP) without architectural or hardware changes, the Ruijie offers seamless and secure wireless control. The Ruijie RG-WS6108 Wireless can manage up to 32 wireless APs by default and a maximum capacity of 320 APs (or maximum 640 AP Licenses for Wall APs) with license upgrades.

The Ruijie RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller enables centralized control and management of the AP, providing high transparency and visibility. Ruijie with the leading management platform Ruijie Smart Network Commander (RG-SNC) and AP series, the Ruijie RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller can flexibly manage the Ruijie AP configuration and optimize radio frequency (RF) range to improve wireless network performance and minimize deployment workload on same time.

The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller enables multi-role network services with the latest technology and clustering technology. Ruijie clustering technology shares the wireless user database among multiple controllers and allows users to roam seamlessly across different areas of the network. Intelligent Load Balancing

In high density wireless LANs, the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller works together with Ruijie APs to intelligently distribute users among different APs according to the number of users and data traffic in real time. This feature balances the load pressure on each AP and increases average bandwidth and Quality of Service (QoS), offering higher network availability. Apart from its role-based and traffic balancing features, the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller also enables load balancing in terms of frequency ranges. Because most WiFi devices use 2.4GHz by default while frequencies above 5GHz (802.11a / n / ac) can offer better throughput performance. With frequency-based load balancing, Wireless Controller allows users with dual-band devices to connect to 5GHz as a first priority. Centralized or Distributed Intelligent Switching

The RG-WS6108 High Performance Wireless Controller can be deployed at Layer 2 or Layer 3 levels without modifying the original network architecture as it forms an integrated switching architecture with the wireless AP. The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller provides easy management of data switching for all APs.

With industry-leading local forwarding technology, the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller removes the traditional Wireless Controller traffic barrier. Local forwarding technology enables flexible deployment of data forwarding within APs. This means that the AP can determine whether to forward all data via the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller according to the user’s Service Set ID (SSID) or VLAN, or to send data directly to the wired network for data communication. Local forwarding technology enables large-scale, delay-sensitive, real-time data transmission over wired networks. With high 802.11ac throughput, it greatly reduces traffic pressure on the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller. It also better complements the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller to accommodate network services with heavy traffic demands such as high definition Video on Demand (VoD) and Voice over Wireless LAN (VoWLAN) in the future.

Intelligent RF Management

Wireless Controller RG-WS6108 allows APs to perform RF scanning in wireless network as required. APs can scan frequency bands and wireless channels to identify malicious APs and networks. The AP will send alert notifications to network administrators for action as soon as it is discovered, providing round-the-clock network protection. In addition, the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller can control the real-time RF scanning function of the AP to measure signal intensity and interference. Flexible Authentication Modes

Apart from traditional Web Authentication and 802.1X Authentication, the Ruijie RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller also supports PEAP Authentication, SMS Authentication and QR Code Authentication.

PEAP authentication allows a user to authenticate a password only once. That means users are only required to enter credentials during their first network visit.

If SMS authentication is adopted, the user first logs in with their mobile number and then receives an SMS with the login username and password for network access.

QR code authentication is another wireless security highlight. After accessing the wireless network, users will get a QR code on their end device and simply ask the authorized staff to scan for network access.

ARP Spoofing Protection

Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) detection effectively protects network users from ARP gateway spoofing and host spoofing for secure wireless access. Automatic binding can be enabled in both dynamic and static IP address allocation environments to greatly save manpower and management costs. The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller can monitor and control the rate of ARP packets being sent to prevent the use of malicious scanning tools, which trigger ARP floods and cause network congestion.

Wireless Controller RG-WS6108 enables rogue AP detection and containment are effective for improving wireless security. The Wireless Controller sets the active AP to perform rogue detection, send probe packets and hear probe responses from valid APs. DHCP Security

With Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) snooping, the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller allows DHCP response messages only from trusted ports. Wireless Controller can thus prevent unauthorized DHCP server deployment to interfere with IP address allocation and management and affect normal network operation. With DHCP monitoring function, the RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller can effectively prevent ARP host spoofing and source IP address spoofing in dynamic IP allocation environment by dynamically monitoring ARP and checking source IP address.

Management Information Security

To ensure device security and offer protection against attacks, Secure Shell (SSH) and SNMPv3 technology encrypts management information by Telnet and the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). The RG-WS6108 Wireless Controller offers Telnet access control based on the source IP address, offering a high level of granularity in device management. Only IP addresses authorized by the network administrator can log on to the Wireless Controller, further enhancing the security of device network management.
