Network Monitoring System
Network Monitoring System (NMS) is a tool for monitoring or monitoring elements in a computer network. The function of the NMS is to monitor the quality of the SLA (Service Level Agreement) of the Bandwidth used. NMS software is used as a system that manages the process of monitoring network functions and performance which includes density and traffic in terms of bandwidth usage.
This monitoring process can be extended to the use of resources, such as system up / down, CPU and memory utilization, and port management. The results of monitoring are used as material in decision making by management, and can also be used by network administrators (technical person) for analyze the occurrence of irregularities in network operations.
Use of Network Monitoring System
The usefulness of the NMS is:
Provide information about the operation and connectivity of equipment and resources available in the network, as well as remote network status information. Planning upgrades and changes in network equipment. Diagnose network problems. Material for SLA (service level agreement) requirements. Ensuring uptime for user needs that depends on the availability of computer networks and security of the system operating properly.
